Overwater Expeditions hosts a small number of carefully selected fishing journeys each year. Each trip is planned around the best seasonal window for the destination and is personally hosted from arrival to departure.
Rather than offering a large catalog of trips, we focus on destinations that combine enjoyable fishing, unique environments, and rewarding travel experiences. Small groups, local knowledge, and careful planning allow each expedition to feel personal, relaxed, and connected to the place itself.
Bijagós Archipelago - West Africa
The Bijagós Archipelago lies off the coast of Guinea-Bissau in West Africa, forming a vast chain of tropical islands, tidal flats, mangrove channels, and quiet coastal waters. Known for both its natural beauty and diverse saltwater fishing opportunities, the region offers a unique blend of exploration, fishing, and relaxed island atmosphere.
Our hosted trips explore the archipelago by skiff, moving with the tides between sand flats, island shorelines, and coastal structure in search of a wide variety of powerful saltwater species.
Fishing Environment
A diverse tidal fishery made up of islands, mangrove creeks, shallow flats, and coastal water. Changing tides and daily movement create a constantly evolving fishing experience throughout the week.
Target Species
A wide range of saltwater species including jacks, barracuda, cubera snapper, tarpon, and other powerful coastal fish found throughout the archipelago.

Small hosted groups, typically 6–10 anglers.
Accommodations
Guests stay in a comfortable island lodge designed specifically for anglers, providing direct access to the surrounding fishery along with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere after each day on the water.

Rio Preto da Eva - Brazilian Amazon
Rio Preto da Eva is a blackwater river system in the central Brazilian Amazon, where fishing takes place among flooded forests, quiet tributaries, and jungle-lined waterways. Surrounded by dense rainforest and rich wildlife, the region offers a uniquely immersive Amazon fishing experience centered around peacock bass and daily exploration by boat.
Our hosted trips move through this remarkable river system each day, combining productive fishing with the atmosphere, scenery, and rhythm of the Amazon itself.

A blackwater Amazon river surrounded by rainforest, featuring flooded forest, hidden lagoons, winding tributaries, and calm jungle channels. Water levels and seasonal movement naturally shape the fishing throughout the season.

Peacock bass along with a variety of other native Amazonian species found throughout the river system.

Small hosted groups, typically 8–12 anglers.

Upper Amazon — Liveaboard Expedition
Deep in the upper Amazon Basin, this liveaboard-style fishing journey explores vast river systems, jungle structure, and remote waterways accessible only by boat. Traveling through ever-changing Amazon landscapes, the experience combines daily exploration with the comfort and flexibility of life on the river.
Each day is spent moving between lagoons, tributaries, flooded forest, and productive jungle structure in search of peacock bass and other iconic Amazon species.

A dynamic Amazon fishery made up of blackwater channels, submerged timber, flooded forest, hidden lagoons, and large river systems shaped by seasonal water movement.
Target Species
Peacock bass along with a variety of other native Amazonian predators found throughout the upper river system.
Group Size
Small hosted groups, typically 8–12 anglers.
Accommodations
Guests stay aboard a fully equipped riverboat designed for extended fishing travel in the Amazon. Comfortable cabins, prepared meals, daily boat access, and onboard common areas create a relaxed and practical base for exploring deeper sections of the river system.
