How Our Expeditions Work
Planning an international fishing trip should feel exciting, not overwhelming. At Overwater Expeditions, every journey is carefully organized so anglers can focus on the experience itself — the fishing, the destination, and the time on the water.
From the first conversation to the moment you arrive, the process is designed to be personal, clear, and well supported throughout.

Step 1: Explore the Expeditions
Each Overwater journey is built around a carefully chosen destination, seasonal timing, and the overall experience the trip can offer.
Start by reviewing our upcoming expeditions to learn more about the destination, fishing style, accommodations, and travel experience. This will help you identify the trip that best matches your interests and goals on the water.
Step 2: Apply for an Expedition
If a particular expedition interests you, the next step is to submit the application form. This allows us to begin a conversation and understand a bit about your background, expectations, and experience.
Our expeditions are built around small groups and carefully selected destinations. The application helps ensure that each trip comes together with the right anglers, expectations, and shared approach to the experience.
Once your application is received, we review the details and reach out to continue the discussion.
Step 3: Personal Conversation
After reviewing your application, we’ll reach out directly to continue the conversation. This is an opportunity to discuss the expedition in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
During this conversation we typically cover the destination, travel logistics, what you can expect from the overall experience , and the overall character of the trip. It also helps ensure that the expedition is the right fit for you and that everyone joining the group shares similar expectations.
Our goal is simple: to make sure every angler arrives fully informed and excited for the journey ahead.
Step 4: Secure Your Spot
Once everything is confirmed and the expedition is a good fit, we’ll provide the final trip details and instructions for securing your place.
Groups are intentionally kept small and often fill well in advance A deposit is required to confirm participation and ensure that each trip is organized with the right number of anglers.
From that point forward, your place on the expedition is secured and the preparation for the journey begins.
Step 5: Prepare for the Journey
In the months leading up to the expedition, we provide guidance to help you prepare for the trip. This includes information about travel logistics, recommended tackle and travel gear, packing suggestions, and details about the destination.
Our goal is to make sure every angler arrives confident and ready for the experience ahead. With the planning in place, the focus can shift to the fishing, the environment, and the shared adventure on the water.
Every expedition begins with a conversation. If one of the upcoming journeys speaks to you, the best way to begin is by submitting an application. From there, we’ll connect personally to discuss the destination, the details and whether the experience matches what you’re looking for .

The Experience
An Overwater Expedition is more than a destination. It’s a commitment to authentic discovery and personal hosting.
